Joseph S. Schuchert has more than 35 years of legal experience focused largely on investment-related matters. Joe’s practice includes both business litigation matters and corporate transactional matters involving corporate formations, mergers and acquisitions and financing activities. He also counsels national and local companies in connection with employment law issues.
Joe sits on a number of corporate boards and is regularly called upon to advise corporate boards and their members regarding board governance. In addition to practicing law, Joe has formed and managed venture capital and hedge funds and still advises similar entities.
Joe and his wife, Heather, reside in Southern California near their four adult children and their families. Joe and Heather are passionate in their support for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and are members of the Peninsula Committee Children’s Hospital, a group solely dedicated to raising money for CHLA. They also support and volunteer with Las Floristas and various programs supporting Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey.

- Tried to conclusion more than ninety trials or arbitrations
- Founded, raised capital and managed venture capital/private equity funds with an institutional investor base
- Founded, developed investment thesis and managed (compliance officer) long/short hedge fund that managed approximately $270 million.
- Appointed as a law lecturer at UC Irvine School of Law, teaching “Alternative Investments- Diverse Legal Issues in an Expanding Asset Class,” in 2017
